People who know me recognize that what guides me is making a difference in someone’s life. That’s why working as part of the Empower Patient Services team is such a great fit for me. As part of the team, I’m able to develop real relationships and get to know each person personally. Relieving them and their loved ones of some of their burdens lets me feel I am making a direct impact, and it’s extremely gratifying.
Earlier in life I spent 6 years in Africa doing humanitarian aid work, and even learned the Swahili language so I could communicate better! Seeing people struggle in Africa and witnessing the value of a close-knit community have colored everything I do here. I have deep compassion for what people are going through, and it’s wonderful to be able to support them as part of the Empower Patient Services community.
When I’m away from work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, 2 teenagers, and 2 cats. I speak Spanish and love to travel, exploring other cultures and languages, and learning about the people. It’s how I relax, and the knowledge I bring back helps me be the best I can in my work.
I feel that my calling in life is to care for others and, as part of the Empower Patient Services team, I’m honored to have the opportunity to do that. I’ve gained diverse skills over more than 15 years in healthcare services, and I try to use those skills every day to make people’s lives easier. I like to be the person someone can count on—that’s what makes me excited every day to get up and come to work!
Empower Patient Services lets me serve people best by encouraging me to listen to the needs of each person I come into contact with and provide ongoing, consistent care. We are a family at Empower Patient Services. We care about each other and the people we serve, and are devoted to quality in what we do. Our focus is on living out our values with each person or family who contacts us as well as with our fellow team members.
When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending time with family, cooking up a new dish in the kitchen, or watching a classic TV show. I also delight in talking with friends and family on just about any topic.
I’ve worked in customer service for more than 25 years because I love helping people. But 5 years ago, I happily moved to the healthcare world because I wanted to make a more direct difference in the lives of others. My approach is to treat each person as I would want a family member to be treated, and I’m grateful that Empower Patient Services lets me do just that.
Being part of someone’s healthcare journey is fascinating for me. Empower Patient Services allows me to put each person first and really listen to their concerns. It’s rewarding to talk with people, offer guidance, and be a part of supporting the changes a person wants to make in his or her life.
When I’m not at work, I’m often at a lake with my husband—he’s an avid fisherman, and I have fun relaxing! We also like to travel, and I’m a crafter of all sorts and like home improvement projects. I make sure I take time each day to appreciate what I have—it helps me have a brighter outlook on life, which I want to share with the people I serve.
I’ve been a Certified Pharmacy Technician for 18 years and have seen the healthcare world from many angles—mail order pharmacy, retail pharmacy, hospital, and healthcare office. But I particularly love specialty pharmacy and my role here at Empower Patient Services, where personalized care is the top priority.
I enjoy learning and the challenges of helping people with their healthcare needs. And I am thrilled to have the privilege of walking alongside each person in their treatment, offering education or alleviating concerns along the way. It’s important to me to connect with people and offer some relief for what they might be experiencing. My personal health journey has also given me perspective—I was given a second chance at life, which has taught me to live each day to the fullest and helped me become a better advocate.
With my 2 small children, it can be hard to find time to relax. But I love my busy life and enjoy taking walks or playing with my kids. I’m close to my family and feel lucky for the support we share.
Having worked in many pharmacy settings, including a small family pharmacy and a national chain pharmacy, my priority has always been to build strong relationships with people. I like being able to add a bit of joy or a laugh to someone’s day, and feel fortunate I found personal service to be of utmost importance at Empower Patient Services.
The care I give to each person is individualized—what’s important to them is what is important to me as we work together to address their needs. I have the benefit of knowing first-hand what it’s like to be a person who needs the services of a specialty pharmacy, and that has given me great perspective in how to best help others. Being able to help give people peace of mind and knowing that I have helped make someone’s life a little better gives me great satisfaction.
When I want to relax away from work, I like to be outdoors. I find time to garden and work in my yard, and also like to camp and fish. My husband and 3 children keep me busy, along with our 3 dogs and 2 cats.
Prior to working in healthcare, I enjoyed many years in media and marketing, and I love the opportunities my job provides. I value the ability to serve others through my work at Empower Patient Services. I have developed a deep satisfaction from being able to play a role in helping someone on their healthcare journey.
One aspect I especially love about my work at Empower Patient Services, is the opportunity to provide continuity of care. When a person enrolls in our services, they will continue to enjoy the consistency of the same Coordinator assisting them over time, whatever their needs. This can include insurance questions, pharmacy requests, and other concerns. It’s important in healthcare when the needs can be many and immediate.
In my free time, I enjoy crafting, baking, and gardening. In addition, my husband and I pride ourselves on tackling home improvement projects. Most importantly, I love spending time with family and friends.
I love my life and I love my work! Having been in healthcare for 30 years, I have a great appreciation for what each person and their loved ones are facing. At Empower Patient Services, people come to us who may be worried or afraid—I’ve seen how simply listening can make all the difference in the world. Being part of creating a positive outcome for them is what I work to achieve.
I am thrilled to be a part of the Empower Patient Services team. We focus on taking the time to get to know people and understanding their needs. It’s about putting each person at the center of what we do and treating them the way we would want to be treated. Being a part of a team like that and getting to support people and their goals is why I love what I do.
Outside of work, I am an early riser for morning workouts and do just about any physical activity, including walking, hiking, and biking. I enjoy music and concerts with my husband, and being around friends and family. Whatever I am doing, I focus on enjoying life and being positive.
